Sunday School

Current Adult Sunday School Classes (4th Quarter, March-May)

There is a study for every adult in the GCC Sunday School curriculum from studies which study the books of the Bible verse by verse to classes that follow a defined curriculum.  There are those that teach "classroom style" and others which use various audio/visual aids to get across their message.  Sunday School meets from 9:00 AM to 10:00AM each Sunday Morning.  Come be a participant!

College and Career (Led by Stan Friesen) - Study:  Topical Bible Memory.  The class will be learning how to hide God's Word in their hearts to that He can use it whenever He wants.

Fishers of Men (Led by Cliff Fischer) - Study:  1 Corinthians.  From division to worship practices, from immorality to love, from redemption to the resurrection, investigate Paul's clear instructions for the Body of Christ, the church.

God's Vessel (Led by Betty Bowers) - Study:  Pursuing Godliness:  A Woman After Go'd Own Heart.  Based on a book by Elizabeth George.

Grace 101 (Led by Pastor Earl Bowers) - Study:  The beliefs of GCC for new members or for those who are not completely certain of their beliefs. (Begins April 11)

GracePoint (Let by Pastor Korey Kincaid) - Study:  1 Peter / Courage in Times of Trouble.  Believers scattered across the Roman Empire were facing the threat of increased persecution.  Through words of hope and wisdom, Peter taught them how to live victoriously in the midst of life-threatening trials.  Peter's letter of encouragment and warning is just as important for believers today to hear and understand.

Sonlight Seekers (Led by Pastor Elvin Dillard) - Study:  Preparing for Battle.  Based on a book by Mark Brubeck.

Sojourners (Led by Keith Gilkey) - Study:  New Testament Books.  A verse by verse journey through the books of the New Testament.  The class is currently in Revelation.

Young at Heart (Led by Doris Fawl and Bill Webb) - Study:  How to Pray.  A study using R. A. Torrey's writings to guide your journey to a deeper, more effective prayer life.

Men's Ministries

The Men’s Ministry of Grace Community Church exists to empower men to meet the specific purpose of the Church through the Spirit Principles:

S = Study – Psalms 111:2 & 2 Tim 2:15
P = Prayer – Daniel 9:20 & 1 Thessalonians 5:17
I = Involvement – Heb 10:24 & Galatians 5:13
R = Responsibility – Colossians 3:17 & Micah 6:8
I = Integrity – Proverbs 10:9 & Titus 2:6-8
T = Testimony – 1 John 5:10-11

When we unlock the Spirit Principles, we will strengthen our walk, our families, our church and our communities.

The Men of Grace Community Church have a vision to be Biblical leaders with hearts and minds centered on God, so we can make the greatest impact for the Kingdom of God.

This vision will be achieved through:

Establishing men’s Bible study groups in the surrounding communities.
Establishing more prayer opportunities for men.
Creating an annual men’s retreat or conference.
Creating a man to man mentoring program.
Involving 100% of the men in the church in the men’s ministry.
Establishing outreach projects to further the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Men's Night Out Every 3rd Monday of the Month!!

 Grace Card Ministry

The Grace Card Ministry sends out cards on behalf of the church to those within the church and community in the hope that it will be uplifting to those at special times of the year.  All church members are encouraged to contact Debby Young, the Church Secretary at (785) 665-7117, to ensure that their birthdays are published in the monthly Happenings@Grace and to ensure that their names and addresses are correct.  Cards are also sent to residents at Brookside, the Topeka Rescue Mission and the Osage County Jail.  Contact Teresa Clary at (785) 665-7733 if you want to help.

Grace Quilt Ministry

The Grace Quilt Ministry (GQM) seeks to serve the Lord Jesus Christ by making and distributing homemade quilts to families in need of warmth.

As each quilt passes through the completion process, it is tenderly prayed over by the sewer.  We specialize in making crib-size babGQM Picturey quilts but you’ll find a variety of other sizes in our stash.  We use an array of fun-to-make patterns.  Most quilt top patterns can be made within a month, but there is never a rush as each person may complete their quilt project at their own pace.  The person who wants more of a quilting challenge, you’ll find we have patterns to delight your imagination.  There is never a charge or fee, and GQM provides all of the fabrics that are used to make GQM charity quilts.  Heartland Quilts donates its quilting services to the ministry for the baby quilts that are given to charity.  Often, the members like to quilt their own projects using a simple ‘pillowcase’ technique.

There is something for everyone in the GQM.  A person can choose to be a part of everything or find a special niche of service that fits their style.  Perhaps you’d be willing to serve in areas such as;

Quilting, cutting fabrics, washing, purchasing fabrics, coordinating bundles for the quilters to piece together, making binding, sewing binding, and ironing (we have a ‘mangle’ which was donated and Elaine fixed it up to look better than new!)  The list is endless but that is why we need your to help us to serve our Lord and glorify Him with the gift of using our hands.

As GQM goes into its 5th year; we continue to praise our Lord Jesus for the opportunity to spread His message with each quilt we give in His Name.  Word of mouth has spread the news about our beautiful homemade quilts, and each year the demand for our blankets grows, but we have to turn down some request due to inability to meet the demand; we need your help to grow the quilt ministry.  Currently, we supply quilts to GCC New Mons Ministry, Kansas Children’s Service League in both Topeka and Lawrence, and Caring Pregnancy Options.  Over the past 5 years, we have made and distributed over 250 quilts.  We also try to be as self-supporting as possible by hold an annual fundraiser and the funds raised go back into purchasing materials.

GQM meets 4th Thursday of each month from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Loretta’s house.  For further information contact Loretta Harder at (785) 836-7450, or Elaine Garrett at (785) 839-0381.

WOW Scrapbooking

WOW Scrapbooking is held on the last Monday of every month from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.  It is open to anyone and not just limited to WOW attendees.  The group meets in the church's activity room with lots of room to spread out.  Everyone brings their own supplies, but there is always sharing of ideas and some supplies when necessary.  Participants bring a snack and drink.  For more information contact Kelli Fund at kellifund@yahoo.com.

4 X 4 Groups

A 4 x 4 is a small-group concept designed to plug new members and families into the Grace Community Church family.  Couples and singles get together once a month for a meal for 4 months (8-10 people per group).  There is an opportunity to host one month.  The host family prepares the meat dish and drinks, the other couples bring dessert, salad, veggies and bread.  While most groups meet in individual homes, some groups like to meet at the church (check with the church office for availability) or at a restaurant.  The host family or group leader provides a short devotional discussion after the meal.  Everyone has a great time of fellowship.

New groups start soon, so sign up today at the 4 x 4 table in the church foyer and you will be assigned a group.  For more information, contact Diane Williams at (785) 828-4284.
