Matthew Henry, a highly esteemed Bible commentator says, “True Christianity lies in the heart, in the purity of heart; the washing of that from wickedness…The heart must be kept pure from fleshly lusts, all unchaste thoughts and desires; and from the worldly lusts…all that which comes out the heart, and defiles the man.”
How difficult living this way can seem in today’s sexualized culture. It is everywhere. Christians underestimate how much it affects them. Moreover, they don’t understand how much they are denied the blessings God promises to the pure in heart.
