Counseling for Women and Children

This ministry provides support to women, children and families as they deal with various issues in their lives.  Any situation which causes stress or conflict within the inidivdual (adult/child) or family unit can be addressed in a counseling setting with prayer and the Word of God providing the foundation of the counseling.

The focus of the ministry is to provide encouragement and direction for the individual/family through the leading of the Holy Spirit and God's Word.  Judy Brown, the GCC counselor, meets with individuals or families on an individual schedule as needed.  Appointments may be scheduled during the day, after work and/or weekends when necessary.  Some people like to schedule weekly or bi-monthly appointments; others come one time or on an "as-needed" basis.

Appointments may be scheduled by phone at:  (785) 665-7265 (Home); (785) 250-5077 (Cell); or by email:  judjonbrown@aol.com.

Library

Library & Media Center

The church library is located in Room B5 and is open to anyone whenever the church is open.  In addition to books and audio/visual material, the library has a computer available to library users.  The computer has free internet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Logos Bible study software and has a Christian internet filter (Bsafe).  A high speed copier for individual use is also available for a nominal fee.  The library is especially helpful for home schoolers, school projects and general study or reference work.

Check Out Procedure.  To check out books, please sign the check out sheets (name, date and item) located on the shelves in the library.  Please return the items in a reasonable amount of time (2-3 weeks).  To check in materials please place the items in the marked return basket located on the shelves in the library.  The library is regularly used and some books and DVD's are in great demand.  Please be cognizant of this and return the materials you borrow as soon as you can.

Donations.  Material donations are always welcome.  If you have a large donation you can make arrangements with Wendi Bevitt, the Church Librarian (785-665-7763), or Bob Bostrom, the Church Administrator (785-665-7117). For smaller donations, there is a donation basket in the library.  Boxes of donations may also be left in the library closet.  Please do not place your donations directly on the shelves as they need to be processed first.  Be aware that we might not be able to utilize all donations in our library.
