Books In Focus by Senior Pastor Elvin Dillard
When someone asks me for the title of my favorite book, I often respond with the question, "What is your current need?" My favorite books have most often been read during a time of personal struggle or need and the book I read at that time gave me great comfort and encouragement. Two such books are: "Where is God When it Hurts" by Philip Yancy and "The Knowledge of the Holy" by A.W. Tozer. I read these two books in the months following the death of our 11 year old son. They both brought me tremendous peace and provided a deeper understanding of a God that loves us in the depth of great pain, sorrow, and confusion.
